“We were so lucky to learn about the Troubles from tour guide, Sean. We went into this experience with very minimal knowledge about this period and we left with context that explained the heaviness we felt in the city. Sean did an excellent job explaining the Troubles and we are so grateful to have learned more from an individual who experienced it firsthand. He made us laugh and want to cry!”

“If you want to learn about the history of Belfast and its struggles, this is it. Our driver lived through the upheaval, but had a positive, and informative attitude in explaining it to us. It is a heavy, emotional tour, but he tried to lighten up the mood at times. After the tour, you will need to do something fun and light hearted. We went to a pub!”

“This was a very interesting tour. We got an honest but unbiased look at what happened in Belfast in the past and what the situation is present day. It included many things I heard about on the news when I was younger but never really understood, like the hunger strike. The driver, Sean, presented a look from the viewpoint of each side so I could understand how each side had purposes they were trying to achieve, and in the end I understood that they both actually had a common purpose-- to be freed from suppression. The Protestants originally formed to have a bible and service in their own language rather…”

“Brendan our guide was a lovely friendly man. He told us the history and significance of places, murals, memorial gardens, the walls, the gates, everything. An amazing insight into what has been going on in Belfast, the history and the recent times. As a resident of England, I have never heard the real stories told by a local. Such a valuable lesson for us.”

“By far the best tour I’ve been on in the UK. Very informative and will help me write an important paper about it. My guide was actually shot during the Troubles, gave an equal and balanced view of both sides of the conflict, and showed me and talked to me about a lot of things the UK government doesn’t want the general international community to know. This is an essential tour for those who respect history or are involved in modern politics.”
